2018 Beauty Favorites

Now that 2018 has come to a close, I thought it would be fun to round up my favorite makeup products of the year and share them with you all! If you’ve followed my YouTube for years you’ll probably recognize a few of these, but there are certainly some new loves in the mix as well.

Foundation: IT Cosmetics CC Cream
Concealer: IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye

Like many others, 2018 was the year when I discovered (and immediately fell in love with) the IT Cosmetics CC Cream. It provides a flawless medium coverage, while still looking very natural–making it perfect for everyday wear.

Somewhat less talked about, but equally favorites worthy IMO, is IT Cosmetic’s Bye Bye Under Eye Concealer. Seriously, it’s taken me ~5 years to find a concealer that actually covers my dark circles, and doesn’t look cakey so I expect this product to remain a favorite for years to come.

Blush: M.A.C Soft & Gentle Mineralized Skin Finish
Highlighter: Benefit Watts Up! Cream Highlighter

I love M.A.C’s Soft & Gentle Mineralized Skin Finish because it doubles as a blush and a bronzer, adding just enough color to my cheeks to give that healthy glow.

For highlighter I’ve been using Benefit’s Watt’s Up! for years, but it remains a favorite because it’s so easy to apply and is super buildable.

Mascara: L’Oreal Volumiumous Million Lashes Mascara
Eyelash Growth Serum: Essy Eyelash Serum

My favorite mascara this year has definitely been the L’Oreal Voluminous Million Lash Mascara. A single coat gives just the right amount of length and volume for everyday wear and two coats adds enough drama for a night out.

I’ve also been loving the Essy Eyelash Serum–it’s made my eyelash noticeably thicker and longer, and has warded off my desire to get lash extensions…at least for a while.

Eyeshadow Palette: Urban Decay Naked Pallet 3
Eyelid Primer: Urban Decay Primer Potion

My last two favorites of the year are both from Urban Decay. It’s no surprise that my favorite primer continues to be Urban Decay Primer Potion (classic), but this year I also rediscovered my love for the Naked 3 Palette.

When I first got the Naked 3 Palette I didn’t like how warm and rosy the colors were, but since starting a corporate job and switching to a more subtle makeup look I’ve really been enjoying these natural hues. As with all other Urban Decay shadows, the quality and pigmentation are excellent, and I love the variety of neutrals this palette has to offer.
